Classical music

There are a lot of genre of music that I am interested in. Including pop, jazz, R&B, blues, hip-hop. However, for me, the most attractive music genre is classical music. I think others are popular to like and enjoy, but they are all can be traced from classical music. Classical music ban be the beginning of the music that now we are used to listen. So I can find lots of magnificent things by it. Composers' creative and genius ideas let me admire so much. I am always be surprised about how the composers write when I listen to classical music.

And there are numerous pieces in classical period, every composition is great, It needs much time to listen and understand. So I would like to spend time as much as I can to enjoy them.

What music means to me

Music exists everywhere. Great music can change a human's mood and emotion. We can feel happy, sad, or crazy by listening music. According to the development of society, music is becoming more and more important. For me, music is always there, waiting me to explore a magnificent, mysterious and changeable world through it.

I used to let music comfort me. When I feel down or distressed, I leave myself alone to listen to music. I know it quieten me. After that, I will feel better and I can think in a clear way. On the other hand, I believe music can express some secrets of some thoughts that the performer could not tell anyone through language. So I try to express my ideas and my wishes by playing music. If I am deeply concentrated in playing music, I will forget my pain, my sadness even myself. Therefore, music really brings a wonderful world to me; I feel safe in this world.

Of course, not only music can comfort me, and help me to express myself, but also it is my profession. I will depend on it to exist. However, the most important thing is music really can bring a lot of benefit to me. A musician says, "I am what I play." It is an encouragement for me to be a musician.

Reflection and summary

Time goes by so quickly, it is the end of a semester again. Since I admitted in the university until now, I think it is a semester that I have learn the most and grow up the most. In English, everyone knows I like it and I always want to try my best to learn it. I think English even a language is not only a course that we should study and gain the score, but the more important thing is we need to regard it as a kind of knowledge that we should learn a long time. It should be accumulated from many different ways, not just in the class. The language is a kind of ability, so we need to learn more from life and experiences.
However, I enjoy my English class very much in this semester. I learned a lot from Dr.Chris as well. Not only about the English, but also lots of ideas he thinks about career, life and study. I feel so pleasure to have opportunity to be a student of him. He gave me some useful suggestions and his encouragement let me be more confident. I really appreciate that.
I believe I will always improve my English in the future, because I found a lot of interesting things when I study English. It makes me be more passionate and energetic. And I think if you want to know a language well, there will has a long way that need to you go.

Is he so young to conduct?

Gustavo Dudamel, this outstanding conductor who is only 28 years old. Before I watched this video, I guessed it is a kind of good performance that is leaded by a good conductor. However, I have to say that is amazing now! The conductor is so passionate, and he leads the orchestra express music in a passionate way. They make me feel so energetic and powerful.

Focus on that question, is he so young to conduct? Maybe many people hold that the conductor should better be older, because it can prove that they are more professional and experienced than younger conductors. In my eyes, I believe no matter who is the conductor or performer, if they are musical and their performances are attractive, I will recognize them. In this video, although the conductor does not has a lot of skills like those famous, old conductors, but he can give us a attractive concert as well. On the other hand, because of he is so young, he can be more powerful and energetic, I think it is more attractive to me. I think I can feel the fresh of the youth.

Thus, I like this concert which is conducted by this young conductor, Gustavo Dudamel. And I like what orchestra musicians perform as well. Looking at those young faces, you will be more amazing about how can they can be so professional in this young age.

The relationship between composer and audience

It is a really interesting question that how to describe the relationship between composer and audience. I agree with those who think their relationship is quite complex and magic. Can you imagine the composer use their feeling and understanding of music to bring audience to another wonderful world. If there are no relationship between them, the audience can not follow the composer to visit the musical world.

Firstly, I think the audience will follow the composer consciously. If you go to enjoy a concert, you will recognize who is the composer and then you will follow him or her consciously. So there is a connection between you and the composer gradually. After then, if he or she is a outstanding composer and it is a great performance, you will feel comfortable to follow the composer to enjoy music.

Moreover, a lot of audiences who go to a concert are classical music fans. At least they know classical music pieces and like them. Most of the audiences understand some classical composition. So they can build a connection with the composer. Such as they can find some resonances and same ideas with the composer. And they can learn more from the composer as well. So this is a relationship between them.

I believe the relationship between composer and audience is extremely magic. Maybe they do not know each other, but they can build such a connection by music.

What does music make me feel ?

When facing with this question, I think music is extremely important. It is everywhere, it can express every emotions from human-beings. If we are sad, we can listen to music to heal the hurt. In contrary, we can use music to interpret our happiness and exaltation.
Fortunately, I started to learn music when I was a young girl. For me, music like a kind of magic that can bring you to a lot of different artistic conceptions. Sometimes, you can not express your feeling by words or your phiz, but you can use music to say it. For example, when I was in high school, I went through for a really dark period. In that period, I can not find my way and whatever I paid efforts, it all did not work. I was so disappoint everyday. So I listen to lots of music, and play my cello in my room that the light were closed. In the music, I could feel that my heart is quiet and calm, I was not anxious or afflicted. So after that period, I realized what does music make me feel and what does it mean to me. When I play cello or just listen to music, I believe everything has significance to me.
To sum up, music gives me hope,joy and belief. I know there are number of kind of music that I do not play before, I want to use my whole life to understand different type of music.
